HAPPY NEW YEAR

Happy 2009 to everyone. We had a small but happy celebration. It was kinda weird because my two eldest daughters were elsewhere. I guess that is going to happen more and more as they grow into adults but I am struggling to let go. Lucky I have 2 smaller daughters as well which helps distract me from the fact that my big girls are not needing me quite so much... or maybe in a different way than I am used too.

This is Lili up on our friends shoulders. We went for Fish n Chips on the beach and it was a dark rainy evening which became this glorious evening...

Lili and her cousins enjoyed a twilight swim. The light was beautiful.

The January challenge is up on Scrap The Girls. Go check it out and the lovely layouts the CT have created. I sent in my layout posted below. I was working on another to send in but I was let down by the photo processing place I was using so I didn't get it finished. Thankfully I had the other as a back up. Some more great prizes this month too so have a go. You gotta be in to win.

Happy scrapping.

Happy New Year, Kate! Great photos; looks like the weather was fantastic - and I love the rainbow in the last one. I can't imagine not having my DD around for New Years' - especially as it is often just her and I, lol. Have a great year.

Happy New Year to you and your family Kate. I'm now very used to not having my kids home for those sort of celebrations (they are 20, 18 and 16) but boy, do I miss them. I like to think they are capable and independant, that's why they prefer to be somewhere else....who am I kidding....I think they think we are just boring, ole farts lol.

Happy New Year to you, Kate!
I love the photos, particularly with the rainbow captured in the background.

Happy new year Kate. All three of our children where else where for new years as well- just me and hubby at home to see in the new year. Its all good though, I figure we have raised great independent kids who have lovely friends to hang out with. Im looking for positives here!! Hope 09 treats you well.

oh kate
you know i am right with you on the whole "kids growing up" buzz.
funny thing, this year danny suggested we all rendezvous for new year's.
so BD and dan went to one party, raych to another and i took the lads along the road to a third.
then we all got back together at home around eleven.
worked perfectly.
hippie happy new year babe X
